LG Electronics has marked the release date of the first smart phone with a flexible screen. Provide the market with such a device vendor plans in the IV quarter of 2013, according to Pocket-lint with reference to Bu Yong-hyun (Yoon Bu-hyun), vice president of mobile lines LG. However, the interest in flexible devices is not lost, in January of this year at the International CES Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Samsung showcased and flexible screens, and prototype devices based on them, which, however, was not bendable. Samsung plans to launch the first production of flexible displays – up to the end of June.

LG Samsung could easily get around and release a flexible smartphone faster, as the company made with the 55-inch OLED-TV last year. Both firms are experts in the field of LED screens. And over the past couple of years, companies have even exchanged mutual claims of industrial espionage in this area.

Analysts consulting firm Accenture, flexible mobile phones – this is one of the future trends, which is waiting for us. “The effect of this innovation on user interaction is comparable to the revolution, which made touch screens” – the senior vice president of Electronics & High-Tech Company Accenture Thomas Styurmer (Thomas Stuermer). For example, bending the device in different directions and with different force, the user can control its functions.

However, Accenture predicts the appearance of the first flexible mobile phones in the consumer market only after 3-4 years.
