Genetics found among the modern descendants of Austrians Neolithic hunter who died in the Alps 5,000 years ago.

Ötzi – this is mummy of ancient man found in a glacier in the Tyrolean Alps in 1991. Although Ötzi died more than 5,000 years ago because it got in the boom, almost all of his internal organs, clothes and personal belongings have survived to the present day.
Previously, scientists were able to isolate the pelvic bones of Ötzi the DNA samples. Their analysis showed that the ancient people of genetically closest to the modern inhabitants of Sardinia. However, the authors of the new study found that some of his descendants continue to live close to the places where he died.
Genetics compared the genes with the genes ECR 3700 men living in the Italian city of Tyrol (women were not considered due to the peculiarities of the technique). It turned out that 19 of them have the same rare mutation, as well as the Neolithic hunter. Consequently, these Austrians are his very distant descendants.
Later scientists want to continue searching for the families ECR in border areas of Switzerland and Austria. Experts hope that this will help to shed light on the origin of certain hereditary diseases.
Recall, earlier, another group of scientists has determined that Ötzi was suffering from periodontal disease, in which the broken tooth root shell.
