He noted that the age of the meteorite was obtained by analyzing the isotopic composition of the substance of the meteorite. Marov stressed that the study material of a meteorite that helped scientists to look into the past and understand the solar system’s history and evolution.
“It is in these (meteorites) lies the story of processes that occurred in the early history of the solar system,” – said Marov.
In mid-February, residents of some regions of the Urals observed fireball – a ball of fire with a tail, whose mission ended with a bright flash and explosion. Cosmic body mass before the explosion, according to scientists, was about 10,000 tons, the size – about 17 meters. According to the analysis of fragments was found that the Chelyabinsk meteorite belongs to the class of ordinary chondrites.
