U.S. space agency NASA postponed for 2014 flight to the ISS cargo ship Cygnus. This decision was made due to damage to the thermoregulatory system in the U.S. segment of the station.

Experts NASA postponed the launch of the U.S. private Cygnus spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) for the next year. It is reported that the launch will be made no earlier than January. Up to this point the agency will release three American astronauts to the ISS EVA to replace the pump regulation system which broke down on December 11.

As previously reported, due to pump failure in the system of thermoregulation (cooling) station on the U.S. segment of the ISS have been de-energized some systems that could lead to problems with development of power. As a result, power consumption in the U.S. segment increased. At the same time the Russian segment of the station no problems observed.

“There was a question about the possible transfer of the launch ship Cygnus, which is still scheduled to start on Dec. 19 and docked with the station – on December 21. When that problem that arose (breaking pump thermoregulatory system), the question arises whether Cygnus normally dock to the station, “- said the representative of the then NASA, adding that plans to astronauts into space 21, 23 and 25 December .

Note that the second ship after a private American Dragon cargo spaceship Cygnus, created by Orbital Sciences and who was given the name of “The Swan”, first flew to the ISS and docked to the station in September of this year, reports
