Putin congratulated developers “Angara” – Fontanka

 Vladimir Putin congratulated the designers and engineers have developed a new launch vehicle “Angara”, with its successful launch. Russian leader stressed that for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union has been developed from scratch a powerful missile capable to orbit loads from 1.5 to 35 tons.

 Eco booster “Angara” was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in July 9, 2014. The test flight lasted about 21 minutes and took place in accordance with the approved cyclogram ballistic over the territory of Russia. Second stage with non-detachable gruzomaketom landed as planned in a given area on the ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula (about 6000 km from the starting point).  ”Angara” is a new generation of Russian rockets. It was developed based on two universal rocket module (URM) with oxygen-kerosene engines: URM-1 and URM-2. It is planned to create a different load capacity (from 3.8 to 35 tons) varieties “Angara”. Complex new rockets will be able to display virtually the entire spectrum of promising payloads in the Defense Ministry and Roscosmos.
