“Foton-M” will land on September 1 – BFM.Ru

The Russian Space Agency has decided to landing lander “Foton-M” on September 1 in the Orenburg region. ITAR-TASS referring to the press service of the Russian Space Agency.

The decision was made after a meeting of the State Commission, which examined the results of scientific experiments carried out on board the vehicle. According to the agency, the program of experiments completed on August 27.

«Foton-M” number 4 was launched on July 19 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. On board the vehicle are 22 sets of scientific equipment, as well as a certain amount of living organisms, including five geckos. Shortly after the launch communications satellite was partially lost, but this did not affect the course of the experiments. To reconnect it took seven days. The possibility of an early return of the unit to the Earth, but experts have decided to complete the project within the time frame previously.
