Poroshenko: the General Staff of Russia and Ukraine will start consultations – BBC Russian

After talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced an agreement to launch consultations Chiefs of Staff of Russia and Ukraine.

According to Poroshenko, consultations will take place with the mediation of the Tripartite Liaison Group (it includes representatives from Russia, Ukraine and the OSCE) to “as soon as possible go to the regime of bilateral ceasefire, control of which will be carried out by representatives of the OSCE monitoring mission”.

President noted that the parties negotiators agreed on the need to intensify efforts tripartite group.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk said Wednesday that Kiev expects “practical assistance” from NATO. According to Putin, during a two-hour negotiations behind closed doors, a cease-fire in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine were discussed, as “that thing most of Ukraine, Donetsk, Lugansk”.

Putin said that Russia will help the Ukrainian authorities to establish a dialogue between the authorities in Kiev and separatists in the east of the country.
