In Russia will own “Wikipedia” – media-news portal 24smi.org

In Russia plans to create a resource that would be an alternative to “Wikipedia”. For the project to the Presidential Library has passed about 50 thousand books and documents archive, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the experts involved in this issue, “Wikipedia” contains many inaccurate or incomplete data. Especially little information in the “Wikipedia” of Russia and its regions. Creating a new encyclopedia engaged Presidential and National Library of Russia, located in St. Petersburg. Resources for filling the encyclopedia will be used based on the data transmitted from the 27 libraries in the country, located in the regions. Access to an alternative resource is planned to carry through the website of the National Library.

The electronic directory should contain the information about the life and development of the regions of Russia. Subjects of the Russian Federation has requested to send for this purpose regional directories, numbering not less than five hundred nationwide. It is assumed that the encyclopedia is one of the search engines. Furthermore, as stated by the director of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin, along with the national “Wikipedia”, planned to create a virtual museum to illuminate historical formation Russia.
