The lander Philae, which is the first in the history of science, landed on the comet, made the first images of 67P (comet Churyumov -Gerasimenko). A photograph of the nucleus of a celestial body has published the press office of the European Space Agency on a page on Twitter, she is on behalf of Philae.

«Rate! ROLIS (CCD camera for filming during the descent 1024 × 1024 pixels, – BFM.ru) 67P photographed at a distance of 3 km. I am glad that I can put this shot, “- said in a statement.

We also learned that despite the fact that the machine safely landed on the surface of the nucleus of comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko, Philae by unknown reason could not throw harpoons into the ground. Now experts of the European Space Agency are working on this problem.

As previously reported, today Philae disconnected from the Rosetta probe, and became the first spacecraft, which managed to land on a comet. The module will work on the surface of 4-6 months, and the probe will accompany 67P until December 2015.
