“Vedomosti”, “anti-piracy” law could spread to music and books – BBC

This Friday, the State Duma will consider amendments to the so-called anti-piracy law, which involves blocking sites with unlicensed content, report «Vedomosti» reports citing the chairman of the committee on information policy Leonid Levin.

Profile Committee has recommended the adoption of the law amended the document.

According to the amendments, on December 1, 2014 in the black lists Roskomnadzora will get sites with counterfeit music and text of the book.

«anti-piracy” law on the blocking websites with movies and TV earned in Russia in August of 2013. It allows holders to seek to restrict access to those sites that pirated content is detected. In this case, the right holder is drawn to the Moscow City Court demanding the lock. After that, the right holder must initiate a lawsuit against the owners of the resource on the merits.
