The creators are working YotaPhone concept tablet with two screens – iXBT.com

The Russian company Yota Devices was founded in 2011, it is engaged in modems and routers, as well as advances in the market its line of smartphones YotaPhone with two screens.

Not long ago began selling YotaPhone 2, but now the company has publicly started discussing the possibility of producing a tablet with similar functionality. CEO Vladislav Martynov told “Izvestia”, that they are considering various options, starting, of course, quite obvious: the screen on the front of – the traditional and the second, which is located on the back side – based on electronic ink technology.

Yota Device s warns that a final decision on the issue of the tablet is still pending, but if it still appears on the market, it just will not treat an inexpensive category. Dmitry Gorilovsky, one of the founders YotaPhone, believes that the cost of the device with a diagonal screen 10.9 inches could reach $ 600. Therefore, he thinks that the device could not be two-way, but in a project he is not involved, so this is only speculation.

At the moment, the company’s specialists assess the feasibility of launching such a device, how it will be in demand in the market and what categories of users. The high price does not scare Martynov, it is certain that there will always be people willing to pay for the unique quality of a product. But in order for that bet, the developers have not decided yet. Take, for example, one of the main advantages YotaPhone – low power consumption of the screen with electronic ink. If today’s smartphones battery life continues to be a problem, the tablet market is already a lot of devices, long-running on a single charge.

The screen, which is made by electronic ink technology, there is another advantage – it allows the image perfectly readable even in bright sunlight. However, Yota Devices understand that this is also not enough to the plate was really unique and interesting.
