According to them, on the newly opened Skywalker in addition to water, simple hydrocarbons, oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen compounds, astronomers have discovered molecules of ethyl alcohol and a simple form of sugar – glycolaldehyde. They argue that the earlier comets, scientists have not found these compounds.

However, scientists have previously found in space organic compounds, including clouds of alcohol, and the comet Hale-Bopp (C / 1995 O1) Astronomers have previously found ethylene glycol, formic acid and other compounds.

Comet C / 2014 Q2 Lovejoy was opened August 17, 2014 the famous Australian amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy. In the scientific community called him “a fisher of comets” over the past eight years he discovered and photographed five new comets. In February the comet disappeared from view of astronomers, the next time it will be visible only after eight thousand years.
