Russia is once again ahead of the US in the number of space launches – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, December 29 – RIA Novosti. Russia in 2015, has carried out 29 launches, according to state corporation “Roscosmos”.

“In 2015, Russia carried out 29 launches of carrier rockets 18 starts – from Baikonur, three – from the Guiana Space Center, one start – from Dombarovsky GMD and seven launches from Baikonur Russian Defense Ministry Plesetsk “, – stated in the final report of the state corporation.

For comparison, the United States during this period carried out 19 launches, including two emergency. From Cape Canaveral it was carried out 17 launches, two – from the Vandenberg base.

Total in 2015 in the world was carried out 86 launches of carrier rockets for space purposes. Most start-ups were conducted Russia: its share had 29 starts, including two emergency. As in previous years, the leader in the number of starts – the Baikonur launch site.

The Russian orbital group is growing both quantitatively and qualitatively. In 2015, it was put into orbit 17 unmanned spacecraft to solve problems in the interests of Russian consumers. Significantly expand the possibilities of remote sensing and communication satellites of modern domestic.
