TOKYO, March 28 – RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Plyasunkova. Five fragments were recorded near the Japanese Astronomia X satellite of a new generation ASTRO-H, the launch of which took place on 17 February and from that March 26 was lost connection.

As the agency Kyodo, citing data from the US Strategic command Joint space operations center, found the wreckage might fall off from a Japanese satellite.

On Sunday, Japanese experts JAXA space agency reported that they could not communicate with the ASTRO-H. As one version of any problems the experts put forward the lack of electricity after a short circuit or malfunction of the solar panels.

ASTRO-H was created by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in cooperation with JAXA, NASA and the US. The development involved more than 200 researchers from Japan and from abroad. Sputnik 14 meters long and has a cylindrical shape and weighs 2.7 tons, making it the heaviest scientific satellite in Japan. It was originally planned that the communication with the satellite is set to 16.40 Saturday (10.40 MSK), but a day later the specialists of the Japanese Space Agency has not been able to establish a connection.

With the help of Astronomia X satellites, scientists are studying processes in space, invisible to the normal eye, for example at a high temperature of the explosion of a supernova in the “black holes” and galactic nuclei. So far, Japan has previously launched five such satellites.
