Scientists have for the second time to detect gravitational waves, whose existence a hundred years ago, Albert Einstein predicted. On the first discovery was announced in February 2016

The detection of gravitational waves, whose existence a hundred years ago had predicted, Albert Einstein, was not an accident in February 2016 – Scientists have recorded distortion in space-time, a second time, according to Reuters.

The researchers said that the detection of gravitational waves around the Earth have been caused by the collision of two black holes, which move in a spiral toward each other and collided into one about 1.4 billion years ago.

Gravitational waves were observed twin observatories in the United States late on December 25, 2015. The sensors were located in Livingston, Louisiana, and Hanford, Wash.

For the first time gravitational waves were discovered in September last year, however, it announced that they had a February 11, 2016-th. This event was a scientific sensation, which confirmed Einstein’s guess, he made nearly a century ago. As stated at the press conference an international team of physicists that made the discovery, it will allow a better understanding of the mysterious objects like black holes and neutron stars, as well as gain an understanding of the early period of the universe.

First, as the latter discovered gravity waves were caused by the collision of two black holes. In the first case, they were a mass of about 30 times that of the Sun and faced 1.3 billion light years from Earth. The second wave detection is much smaller than the first, to Reuters notes.

As an astrophysicist at Pennsylvania State University, said Chad Hanna, “now that we are able to detect gravitational waves, they become a phenomenal source of new information about our galaxy and completely new channel for discoveries about the universe. ”
