ROC will launch a “church” messenger – BBC News

The Russian Orthodox Church began to develop their own mobile application for instant messaging. In addition to sending text, audio and video messages, it will be equipped with a number of special features. In particular, the special features will have priests.

The fact that the work has already begun on the messenger, the press service of the Orthodox social network “Elitsa”, created with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. According to the site, the new program will be “an important part of a unified communications platform of the Russian Orthodox Church, created by designers” Elitsa “to meet the needs of the faithful in the interactive dialogue and continuous communication with the parishioners of the Church.” What platforms will the program is not specified.

Messenger is created at the request of members of the Orthodox social network in which there are more than 100 thousand people, including about a thousand priests.
