IPhone 7 outlasted Galaxy S7 underwater Вести.Ru

Leading YouTube channel EverythingApplePro moisture protection compared two flagship smartphones — the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7, putting them on the 10-meter depth. After staying under water for five minutes, the Samsung had almost ceased to give life signs, while the new Apple continued to operate normally.

Recall that the iPhone 7 (and 5.5-inch phablet 7 Plus) certified in accordance with IP67. This means that the new “iPhones” can be immersed to 1 meter depth and keep them there for up to half an hour without fear for the consequences (however, be aware that damage caused by liquids is not covered under the original warranty Apple). For comparison, released in March 2016 the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a higher water resistance rating of IP68, which provides for submersion up to 3 m.

On test, when “seven” and Galaxy S7 is lowered to a depth of 1.5 meters, both models continued to work as if nothing had happened. The problems started below the 9-meter mark: after five minutes under water, the Samsung for some unknown reason, rebooted, and the new capacitive Home button iPhone 7 has started to stop responding to touch. However, both “the drowned man” remained functional.

After having been under water for another five minutes, already a depth of 10 meters, the Samsung barely survived: the screen does not turn on, but flash and the led on the front panel continued to burn. IPhone 7 resistance to moisture was better: despite noticeable damage to the bottom of the display, the water has apparently not caused great harm “submariner” Apple including the touchscreen and Home button.

In another clip, the new Apple has tested the strength by dropping from a helicopter. From what height fallen, “seven”, is not specified, but she continued to record video, despite the cracked screen and scratches.
